The Urban Indian Health Institute analyzes diabetes data from 31 participating Urban Indian Health Programs (UIHPs) each year. This data is used to estimate rates and trends for audit outcomes and reports these findings here. The Indian Health Service (IHS) Division of Diabetes Treatment and Prevention (DDTP) processes and collects the data from the facilities. This version includes data collected from 2013 to 2017. Data captured in the 2017 Diabetes Audit reflects care administered in 2016. This report aims to motivate collaboration and communication in the field of diabetes care for urban AI/AN patients. It can inform research, prevention funding, and programmatic efforts, to ensure success in achieving diabetes care and outcomes.
