Data Genocide of American Indians and Alaska Natives COVID-19 Digital Toolkit

Use this toolkit to help coordinate efforts that will hold state leaders accountable for collecting and reporting COVID-19 data on American Indians and Alaska Natives.

American Indian and Alaska Native people continue to be victims of data genocide because of U.S. states’ poor data collection and reporting practices. This is happening at a time when Native people are dying from COVID-19 at nearly twice the rate of White populations. Every state across the country should be required to collect and report race and ethnicity in their COVID-19 data, but only a handful are doing so effectively.
